Discover the Ingredients for Successful Architectural Photographs with Architectural Photography, 3rd Edition
There is a particular skill set required to create a photograph that truly highlights the form and appeal of a building. Architectural photography is far more than simply choosing a subject and pressing the shutter-release button to document a project. However, with the advent of the digital photographic workflow, architects, real estate firms, and interior designers are using architectural photographs to market and present their work in a highly effective manner.
But what goes into creating a successful architectural photograph? What equipment does one need? How can you improve images in the digital darkroom? Why does a building look different in reality than it does in a photograph? In this book you will find the answers to these questions and much more.
Author Adrian Schulz—an architect and photographer by training—uses real-world projects to teach how to capture outstanding images of buildings, inside and out. Plus, he provides advice on how to properly select and use the right equipment, compose the shot, and process images in an efficient workflow based on Adobe Photoshop CC and other tools.
Along with 100 new images and illustrations, this updated 3rd edition covers new topics, such as photographic technology, including digital cameras, lens quality and construction, and large format cameras; shooting techniques; analog to digital shooting; travel and stadium photography; and a real life introduction into the life of a professional architectural photographer.
With this book, entrepreneurs, architects, and photographers alike will learn a variety of creative tips, tricks, and guidelines for making the perfect architectural image!
About the Author:
Adrian Schulz lives in Berlin, Germany, and has a degree in architecture from the Technical University of Berlin. Early in his studies, he became interested in architectural photography, and it became the subject of his thesis.
