Wi-Fi

An abbreviation for wireless fidelity or wireless local area network (WLAN). A technology designed to connect digital electronic devices without wires. Wi-Fi is commonly used to connect computers and even cell phones to the Internet, but it is also being used to connect digital cameras to laptop computers so that photographers can automatically download their images to their computers as they work.
