Visible spectrum
From The Glossary of Digital Photography
The portion of the electromagnetic spectrum that can be seen. The human eye can see a range of visible light with wavelengths at the lower end of about 380 to 400 nanometers and at the upper end of about 700 to 780 nanometers, depending on the individual. The visible spectrum thus has only an approximate range since it varies from person to person. See also electromagnetic spectrum
