SmartMedia
From The Glossary of Digital Photography
A type of memory card that uses flash memory. The SmartMedia card is used to store data such as digital images. It was originally called a solid state floppy disk card, or SSFDC, since it was designed as a replacement for floppy disks. It has been used in a number of digital cameras for image storage, but its popularity has waned.. With the increasing demand for larger memory cards, SmartMedia cards, stuck at 128 MB, struggle to compete, although they continue to be manufactured.
