Sensitivity

From The Glossary of Digital Photography

Jump to: navigation, search

Refers to the quality of sensing how much light is required to create an image that is properly exposed. The overall sensitivity of a digital camera system involves the image sensor in the camera body, the exposure settings on the camera, and the f-stops available on the lens. The greater the sensitivity of an image sensor, the less light required to make an acceptable image.
