SDRAM

An abbreviation for synchronous dynamic random access memory. A type of memory used in digital cameras and higher-speed desktop computers. SDRAM runs at a higher speed than other types of memory. The synchronous in the name indicates that the memory is synchronized with the computer's processor, which is one reason for the SDRAM's higher speed.
