RPM

An abbreviation for revolutions per minute. In digital photography, RPM is used to describe the speed of the turning disk in a hard drive. The faster the disk turns, the faster the access of data on the drive. Typical speeds are in the range of 4,000 to 7,200 rpm. See also hard drive
