A compressed digital video file format (.mov) and software developed by Apple. Both the software program and the file format are known as Quicktime. Software to run QuickTime movies is included with every Apple Macintosh computer. Software is also available for use on Windows PC computers. The QuickTime movie digital video format is widely used on the Web.
