Programmed image control (PIC)

A function or mode developed by Canon for its cameras. PIC is an advanced program mode that selects various camera functions depending on which shooting condition is selected: portrait, landscape, close-up, sports, or night scene. Besides aperture and shutter speed, PIC also determines automatic focus and film advance settings. See also program mode
