Pigment ink

From The Glossary of Digital Photography

Jump to: navigation, search

One of four types of inks generally used in inkjet printers. The four types are dye inks (also called dye-based inks), archival dye inks, pigmented inks, and pigment inks. Pigment ink, generally used in inkjet printers, has only pigment and no dye, which makes it longer lasting, notably in light (light-fastness). Pigment ink is considered the most permanent type of ink currently available for inkjet printers. See also pigmented ink; light-fastness
