Photoshop
From The Glossary of Digital Photography
A very popular professional photo and graphics manipulation software program developed by Adobe. There are several variations of Photoshop, including Photoshop CS3, CS2, and Photoshop Elements. Photoshop CS3 (and earlier versions still in use, such as CS2, CS, and 7) has many more features than Photoshop Elements and is correspondingly much more expensive. Most digital photographers use one of the various versions of Photoshop. When the term Photoshop is used, it is usually in reference to Photoshop CS3 or an earlier version. The term Elements, or Photoshop Elements, is used to describe only Photoshop Elements. Photoshop can be used to convert images from one color space to another; to enlarge or reduce an image; to do detailed image manipulations for creative; artistic, or practical purposes; and to create entire graphic layouts.
