PCX

An abbreviation for PC paintbrush bitmap graphic format. A file format for images. ZSoft developed the format for use in its PC paintbrush software program. PCX is a compressed file format, but because it uses a simple compression technique, it is not very useful as an image file format. Photoshop, among other programs, can read and convert PCX graphic files.
