Output pixel
From The Glossary of Digital Photography
The pixel displayed on a digital display. If the number of input pixels is exactly the same as the number being displayed (the output pixels), no scaling is required. If the number being input is smaller, additional output pixels must be created by scaling or interpolation. If the number is larger, the image being input must be scaled downward by creating new output pixels to represent the greater number of input pixels such that the image looks the same.
