Natural language systems
From The Glossary of Digital Photography
Software programs designed to understand commands written in regular language—for example, English—rather than special computer languages. Google and similar search engines are examples of natural language systems. The user can simply type a group of words or a phrase into the search box and the search engine software will attempt to match and interpret what is written as closely as possible, ignoring short common words (a and the, for example). These systems even try to correct misspellings.
