Nanometer (nm)

A unit used in measuring distance, including the wavelength of light. The wavelength of visible light ranges from about 380 to 780 nanometers. A nanometer is equal to one billionth of a meter, or a millionth of a millimeter. It is also equal to 10 angstroms.
