Moore's Law

An observation made by Gordon Moore, a co-founder of Intel, that transistors on an integrated circuit double in capability every 18 months for minimum component cost. Since his initial observation in 1965, the law has been modified slightly to 24 months and applied to other computer components such as hard disk storage and RAM storage capacity.
