Monochrome

One (mono) color (chrome). In general, monochrome refers to grayscale (sometimes called black-and-white) images, although technically it could refer to any single color. A sepia image, for example, is a monochrome image. The first computer monitors were monochrome and were often green. See also 8-bit grayscale
