Memory

Part of a computer system, as well as a part of a digital camera system. The location where data or images are stored on a temporary basis. Usually, data is held in memory only as long as power is on. When the computer is shut off, data and images stored in memory are usually lost. Memory capacity is often stated in terms of megabytes or gigabytes. See also megabyte (MB); gigabyte (GB)
