Lithium ion battery

Also called a li-ion battery or a LiOn battery. A type of rechargeable battery often used in digital cameras and other devices. Li-on batteries tend to be lighter than other types of batteries, without the memory effect that hampers some rechargeable batteries. Thus they tend to be more expensive than other types of batteries. Since they are usually custom-designed for a particular purpose, they are often the only type of battery that can be used in a particular device
