Lag time

The amount of time expired between pressing the shutter on a digital camera and the actual firing of the shutter. The longer the delay, the more difficult it is to photograph action subjects or fleeting events. The user has to anticipate the event and press the shutter slightly before the action takes place. Lag time should definitely be tested before purchasing a digital camera.
