Keyword catalog
From The Glossary of Digital Photography
An alphabetical listing of keywords. The best type of keyword catalog is a hierarchical one, with keywords grouped under logical categories. An example of a hierarchical keyword catalog might include the following hierarchy of terms, extending from parent to child terms: animal > mammal > dog > German Shepherd. Applying the child keyword, 'German Shepherd,' to the image would also include all of the upper-level ones as well. This speeds up the keywording process considerably. Using a keyword catalog with a controlled vocabulary makes it much easier to find all of the images when conducting a search. See also controlled vocabulary
