Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA)

Formed in 2000 with the merger of Japan Electronic Industry Development Association (JEIDA) and the Electronic Industries Association of Japan (EIAJ). JEITA is a trade association that was set up, in its own words, to 'foster a digital network society for the 21st century, in which IT advancement brings fulfillment and a higher quality of life to everyone.' Digital imaging, both still and video, are among the product areas within JEITA's scope.
