Japan Electronic Industry Development Association (JEIDA)

Best known as an electronic standards association in Japan, although it also engaged in research and development. In 2000, JEIDA was combined with the Electronic Industries Association of Japan (EIAJ) to form the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA). One of JEIDA's best-known accomplishments was the development of the graphical file format known as Exchangeable Image File Format (Exif).
