Intelligent scanner

An optical scanner that has a built-in microprocessor designed to operate more automatically than simpler scanners. Intelligent scanners can provide post-scanning functions such as converting a scan to a PDF; reducing the size automatically so it is appropriate for the desired use, such as e-mailing; auto correcting for graininess, fading, or improper exposure; and scanning multiple items at the same time.
