Instrument metamerism
From The Glossary of Digital Photography
Metamerism is when two colors are seen as different or identical by an observer but an instrument, such as a scanner, reports the two colors as the opposite from what the observer reports. That is, if the viewer sees the colors as different, the instrument measures them as the same. The reverse, where the viewer sees the two colors as the same, but the instrument measures them as different, is a particular type of metamerism known as instrument metamerism. It is considered an instrument error.
