Image size command
From The Glossary of Digital Photography
A function or command in Photoshop that allows the user to change the physical dimensions of a digital image, its resolution, or both. This command is useful for making images larger (uprezzing) or smaller (downrezzing). The image size command increases the size of an image by averaging the surrounding pixels to create new ones in between. There are several different averaging methods to choose from. Generally, when uprezing an image, it is best to choose bicubic smoother as the averaging method. If downrezzing, choose bicubic sharper. Older versions of Photoshop (version 7.0 and earlier) only have bicubic as the averaging method, so that method should be used for both uprezzing and downrezzing.
