Image file size
From The Glossary of Digital Photography
The amount of space that an image file requires for storage on a hard drive, CD, DVD, or other media. The size is usually measured in kilobytes or megabytes. The image file size is often different than the image size because some file formats are compressed and use less space to store an image than is needed to open it. In some cases the image file size may be larger than the image size because the image file size also includes metadata. See also kilobyte; megabyte (MB); file format; metadata
