Image editing program

Software designed to edit, process, and manipulate digital images. Most images coming directly from a digital camera can benefit from some sort of editing. Editing can include adjusting for color, sharpening, cropping, retouching dust spots, retouching hot pixels, adjusting highlights and shadows, enlarging or reducing, and other types of manipulation. Many different software programs offer some or all of these functions, with Adobe Photoshop generally considered to be the most powerful and versatile. Some types of editing software are often included with a digital camera when it is purchased. Free and inexpensive software is also available online.
