A reference or link in one electronic document, such as a word-processing document or webpage, that, when clicked on with the cursor or mouse, will take the viewer to another location. This other location can be another point in the original document, another document in the database, or a location at a website. The link can be created by underlined, colored, or highlighted words, or it can be a graphical element such as a photograph or a map.
