Highlight detail

Also called detail in the highlights. Small gradations in the brightest part of an image. Highlights without detail are known as specular highlights, which could be a bright spot on a windshield or reflective chrome. When there is no highlight detail in a larger, nonspecular part of the image, it is said to have blown highlights or simply is called blown out.
