Green eye

From The Glossary of Digital Photography

Jump to: navigation, search

A phenomenon in which an animal's eyes reflect back-light to a camera in such a way as to cause its eyes to glow green. Green eye is caused by an electronic flash being too close to the visual axis of a camera. Usually this happens because the built-in flash is used or a flash is mounted on the camera's hot shoe. Green eye is similar to red eye in humans. See also red eye
