Gamut mapping
From The Glossary of Digital Photography
The mapping of colors from one color space onto another. No two color spaces or devices have exactly the same gamut, or range of colors, available. Therefore, when an image is moved or converted from one color space or device to another, the gamut of each has to be taken into consideration and adjusted or mapped from one to the other to make the image look as close to the same as is possible.
