Exposure latitude

A range of exposure that will provide an acceptable image. Exposure latitude is often given as x stops of overexposure and y stops of underexposure. Digital cameras typically have more tolerance for underexposure than overexposure, which tends to blow out the highlights of an image. See also blown out
