Ethernet
From The Glossary of Digital Photography
A technology designed to connect computers in a local area network, or LAN. It is especially suitable for the small networks that many photographers have, such as a laptop, a desktop computer, and perhaps an older computer set up as a print server. Many or most new computers come ready to plug into an Ethernet network. Others require the addition of an Ethernet card. The Ethernet cables that plug into the computer look a bit like an oversized modular telephone plug and jack. See also Local Area Network (LAN)
