Electronic document

A computerized document designed to be kept in a computer and viewed on an electronic display rather than distributed and viewed in a paper form. There are a number of different formats in which the electronic document can be kept. Two of the most popular are PDF and HTML. Some formats require special viewing software, others can be viewed by a wide variety of software. See also PDF; HTML
