Dye-sublimation

A process used in printing photographs. The process uses solid dye in the form of ribbons that are vaporized by the use of a small heater. This colored gas solidifies on the special paper to produce the image. Extremely fine control of the three colors cyan, magenta, and yellow is possible, enabling the printing of good-quality photographs. See also Dye sublimation; dye sub
