Dual processors
From The Glossary of Digital Photography
A computer that contains two separate CPUs that are not part of the same integrated circuit (I/C). An integrated circuit is a miniature circuit made up of electronic components that are designed to be smaller and cheaper than the transistor and vacuum tubes that they replaced. Dual processors should not be confused with dual core processors, which have two CPUs in the same I/C. Ideally, a dual-processor computer will operate much faster than a computer with a single processor. See also CPU; Integrated circuit. (I/C)
