A printing device that creates a hard, or physical, copy output from digital input. Here, a digital printer is a printer that creates a photographic print from a digital image input. The typical technologies to produce the digital print include inkjet, laser, and photographic processes. Home printers are often of the inkjet variety, while professional labs use photographic processes to produce prints that look identical to those based on analog photographic techniques as long as the digital image file being used is of high enough quality.
