Digital halftone
From The Glossary of Digital Photography
A halftone created by digital means. In regular halftone creation, film is placed in contact with a halftone screen and a process camera is used to create the halftone. When this process is done digitally, a scanner or video digitizer is used with an image setter to create the digital halftone. The pixels used to create the halftone dots must be fairly small, ranging from 600 ppi to 2,500 ppi.
