ONLINE GLOSSARY OF DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPY

Digital duplicates

From The Glossary of Digital Photography

Jump to: navigation, search

Refers to copies of the digital originals that are exact copies or duplicates. Digital duplicates can also refer to digital copies of analog or film originals. In this case, to create the digital duplicate from an analog original, the film needs to be scanned. These are actually near-duplicates, since they are not as exacting and are second-, not first-generation copies.
