Information broken up into discrete bits instead of being continuous. Essentially, digital is information collection and storage based on base 2, using only zeroes and ones. It is the very heart of digital photography, enabling photographs to be processed and stored on machines and to be transmitted electronically. Digital images can be reproduced exactly.
