Defringe

A Photoshop tool that removes fringing from photographs. The tool, built into Photoshop, is designed to remove the halos that sometimes occur in images with transparent backgrounds. There are also fringes in the form of purple bands around overexposed areas in digital images. The purple fringing in this case is caused by sensor overloading. Photoshop plug-in tools can correct for this kind of fringing. Careful use of the defringe tool can provide considerable improvement.
