Database
From The Glossary of Digital Photography
A collection of data that has not only been gathered but also organized in some manner. A number of software programs have been designed to organize and find data, particularly images. When organizing images in a database, it is important to gather the metadata as well as the images. There is also an assumption that each image has a unique file name. Some database software programs ensure that names are not duplicated by rejecting an image with a duplicate file name. See also data
