Cut out
From The Glossary of Digital Photography
(1) Similar to cut / paste, except that only the cut function is done. No pasting is done. (2) To photograph an item or a person on a white background to make it easy to cut them out and use them on another background. The item photographed is known as the cut out. The actual cutting out is done after the photography by using a photo-editing program such as Photoshop, Elements, or Paint Shop Pro.
