Cursor
From The Glossary of Digital Photography
The indicator on a computer monitor or display that is moved by the mouse or track-pad device. The cursor indicates where the next entry or action will occur. The shape of the cursor depends on the software involved. In some cases, for example in Word, the cursor is a blinking straight line. In the Macintosh operating system, it is an arrow. In Photoshop, it has a variety of shapes, such as crop marks or an eyedropper, depending on the tool selected.
