Creator

The author of a work of intellectual property. In the case of a digital photograph, the creator is the photographer under most circumstances. A creator transforms ideas into tangible forms of expression, which is what makes the intellectual work copyrightable, since ideas cannot be copyrighted. The creator is not necessarily the owner of the copyright if the work was created as an employee or under a work-for-hire agreement.
