Color system
From The Glossary of Digital Photography
There are two types of color systems: additive and subtractive. In an additive color system, used in monitors, for example, the addition of all three primary colors (red, green, and blue) creates white. In a subtractive color system, used in color inkjet printers, for example, the addition of the three primary colors (cyan, magenta, and yellow) produces black.
