Color picker

A tool in many software programs that allows the photographer to choose a color. The color picker can be a circle with the hue around the edge and the saturation, or lightness, varying as the selection tool approaches the center of the circle. The color picker is used, for example, to select the color of a font or paint brush in Photoshop. The eyedropper tool in Photoshop can also be used as a color picker. See also eyedropper
