Camera profile
From The Glossary of Digital Photography
An adjustment applied to images with software after they are captured in order to provide more accurate or more pleasing color. Each camera sensor sees light just a little differently, which why camera profiles are useful. Various companies offer camera-profiling software. A standard target, such as a Macbeth color chart, is photographed with even lighting under controlled conditions, and the camera-profiling software uses the image of the color-chart target to create a profile that will work for that specific camera. Some photographers like to create a different profile for each kind of lighting, such as daylight, room light, theater light, and so on. Other photographers are satisfied with a single profile.
