An abbreviation for cathode ray tube. A display device for computers, video monitors, televisions, oscilloscopes, and radar displays. Digital photographers are familiar with these from their experience with computer monitors in the past. Today CRTs are no longer manufactured for computer monitors, except for very expensive, high-end models. CRTs have been replaced by LCDs for use as computer monitors.
